April DTC Meeting

We’ve moved the April meeting to next Tuesday because we need to select delegates to the various conventions this spring.  Any registered Democrat can be a convention delegate, though we’ll give preference to DTC members who want to attend.  Please let Keith Stein know your preference (keithstein@optonline.net) if you haven’t already done so.  Here are your choices:

  • U.S. Congress (Jim Himes) Wednesday May 14th — fifteen delegates (usually in Bridgeport)
  • State Convention (for Governor and other “constitutional officers”) Friday May 16th in Hartford — fifteen delegates
    • also means attending conventions in April to elect State Central members
  • State Senate (both the 26th and 28th) Monday May 19th — fifteen delegates total (13 + 2)
  • State Rep 143rd Tuesday May 20th — just one delegate
  • Judge of Probate Wednesday May 21st in Weston — fifteen delegates

We’ll select our candidates for State Rep 136 (Jonathan Steinberg) and Registrar of Voters (Marla Cowden) at our May DTC meeting (we don’t need a convention because they run in only one town).

ALSO ON THE AGENDA FOR NEXT TUESDAY:

    • Clay Wade, who’s been hired by the CT Democratic Party to oversee field organizing in south-western Fairfield County
    • helping local candidates qualify for public financing

PLEASE PLAN TO JOIN US FOR DRINKS AFTER THE MEETING
