A seven-year veteran of Westport’s Board of Finance, including serving as Vice Chair, Allyson Stollenwerck is dedicated to preserving best-in-class community resources while remaining focused on fiscal discipline, smart spending, and stable property tax rates.
Allyson has spent two decades as an executive at international nonprofits including managing multi-million dollar budgets and building strategic plans that both support the world’s most vulnerable people and ensure efficient use of donor investment.
Allyson began her career as a corporate securities lawyer and served as Counsel to the Deputy Attorney General of the United States. She is a graduate of Stanford and Yale Law School and has lived in Westport for 23 years with her husband, Jeff, and their two teenage sons.
Over her more than 12 years of service on the Board of Education, including serving as Chair, Elaine Whitney established a track record of getting things done for Westport. Elaine is currently a Commissioner on the Parks and Recreation Commission, where she has held leadership roles in two major long-term planning projects: the Longshore Club Capital Improvement Plan and the Parks Master Plan.
Professionally, Elaine has over 20 years of experience in strategic planning, business development, and management consulting.
She is a graduate of Yale and the Kellogg Graduate School of Management and has lived in Westport for over 25 years with her husband, John. Their three children all graduated from the Westport Public Schools.
Through their many years of service on the Board of Finance and Board of Education, Allyson Stollenwerck and Elaine Whitney have the experience and expertise to deliver for Westport through smart investment in our town now and into the future.
They are committed to enhancing our vibrant public services, world-class schools, and top-notch parks and recreational facilities and doing so responsibly and in partnership with the community.
Together, Allyson and Elaine will:
- Ensure fiscal prudence. Oversee operational costs to spend our resources where they are most impactful.
- Carefully manage capital spending. Invest wisely and sustainably for the long term.
- Keep our taxes and other costs affordable for residents. Ensure that Westport remains an attractive community for all of us, including our seniors.
- Problem solve collaboratively and transparently. Engage with the community and work across boards and commissions to generate the best solutions for the challenges and the opportunities before us.
